Pastor Leslie Gomez, Sr. to Be Profiled in Exclusive Registry

Pastor Leslie Gomez, Sr., Individual Education Program Teacher for the Board of Education, has been recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

With 25 years of experience as an individual education program teacher for the Board of Education, Pastor Leslie Gomez, Sr. is responsible for teaching bilingual classes and English to fourth- and fifth-grade students, focusing on reading and mathematics. Mr. Gomez worked as the director of Roberto Clemente Day Care Center and as a bilingual teacher at Public School 45 for 20 years. He is also a pastor at the United Christian Church. He became involved in his profession because he felt that teaching was his calling, and he attributes his success to his education and faith in God.

Mr. Gomez received his Master’s Degree in Special Education from Long Island University in 1993 and his Master’s Degree in Bilingual Education from Long Island University in 1979. He is a member of the Hispanic Association for Bilingual-Bicultural Ministries and the Latin and African American Chaplains Association.

Christine Gehring Inducted into Cambridge Who’s Who

Christine Gehring, Mentor and Teacher for Hubbard Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education.

With 35 years of professional experience, Ms. Gehring specializes in mathematics instruction, curriculum development, and the creation and presentation of workshops. She is responsible for teaching six individual classes, preparing students for exams and mentoring new teachers in preparation for Praxis III. In 1992, she received her Master’s Degree equivalency in Education from Youngstown State University. Ms. Gehring received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Education in 1970 from Salisbury University. She also received training in high school mathematics, computer applications, curriculum development and leadership.

Ms. Gehring is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Delta Kappa Gamma and Who’s Who Among American Teachers. She is also a member of the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Ohio Education Association, the National Education Association and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She is a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar and received the Teacher of the Year from Hubbard Christians in Action as well as the Ashland Oil Outstanding Teacher Award.

David Massaro, Ph.D., to Be Profiled in Exclusive Registry

Dr. David Massaro, Professor of Education for Lewis-Clark State College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.

Dr. Massaro has 43 years of overall professional experience. As a professor, he teaches educational psychology, coordinates the non-traditional education program and the distance learning program, and visits interns in the region. In addition Dr. Massaro teaches mathematics and science methods to the non-traditional education candidates during their first internship. He earned his Ph.D. in Science Education from The University of Akron.

In 2008, Dr. Massaro received the College President’s Outstanding Teacher Award. He is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the National Science Teachers Association, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Additionally, he is a member of the National Association for Research in Science Teaching, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the International Society for Technology in Education.
