National Trust’s Fathers Day Ideas

The National Trust has invited the public to attend one of the many events it has organised for Father’s Day on the 20th of June.

The National Trust has pieced together a vast quantity of family days out ideas that have transformed into ideal Fathers Day events.

At Castle Drogo in Devon, the National Trust is hosting a classic car weekend. Between 11am and 5pm, there will be a number of activities that the whole family can enjoy and some that are meant especially for Dads. This includes displays of classic cars, as the title of the weekend suggests, garden visits and tours. The beer tent courtesy of Red Rock Brewery gives dads the opportunity to sample a whole range of beers and is also offering lunch at GBP10 per person. There is an admission charge in to the event and an additional GBP1.50 if a child should wish to participate in making a gift for Dad.

To add variety to the occasion, the National Trust have also organised an event called Father’s Day Staple Yard Tipple. This will be happening at the Belton House, Lincolnshire. Being one of the more unusual days out ideas, those who attend are rewarded with discovering the history behind the Belton House. There will be a Victorian-themed activity room aimed towards family participation as well as the opportunity to dress up in costumes from the period. Outside, there’s an adventure playground that includes a tree house and a chain walk. Similarly to the event in Devon, with help from the local Belvoir Brewery, dads can indulge themselves with some free tasters of specialty beer.

A number of other events can be discovered at www.nationaltrust.org.uk.

Karin E. Fried of Organizational Consulting Services to Help Non-Profits participate in QUANTUM LEAP

Karin E. Fried, owner of Organizational Consulting Services and a member of The National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) will offer organizing training to help people who are rebuilding their lives. NAPO’s Quantum Leap program teaches paper, time, and money management to people in life-changing transitions. NAPO believes that making important shifts in one’s life is difficult to impossible without basic organizing skills. For those in life transitions—individuals living in shelters or public housing, the homeless, teenage mothers, victims of natural disasters, and many others—those skills are critical, but are often unaffordable.

Quantum Leap represents a concerted effort to bridge that gap.

Karin E. Fried volunteers her time to various non-profit agencies to provide organizational skills training. Organizational materials for class participants have been donated by NAPO, NAPO chapters, and individual NAPO members. Manufacturers, including Esselte Corporation (Pendaflex) have donated materials such as file folders and file boxes, pens, calendars and more.

Agencies interested in more information on the Quantum Leap program should visit NAPO’s website, http://www.napo.net or call Organizational Consulting Services at (440) 666 – 9326. Manufacturers of organizing products interested in donating materials should contact Karin E. Fried.

Organizational Consulting Services provides Business and Residential Organizing services including Chronic Disorganization and Hoarding. Karin is also a speaker on various organizing issues such as Clutter Control, Paper Management, Time Management and Work – Life Balance. Karin’s motto is “Less Clutter = Less Stress” (SM).
